  • A hospital in California is looking for an experienced ER nurse for a travel contract.
    • Job Requirements
    • The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience
    • Hold an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIH and CA License
    • Travel experience is preferred
      • Schedule Information
      • 12 hr shifts, 7-7, 11-11, 3-3
      • Every other weekend
      • Holiday rotations with perm staff
      • Floor specific orientation: 3 shifts
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Unit: ER
        • They will work in the ER at Arroyo Grande as needed
          • Additional Details
          • Fast track: 4 bed fast track
          • # beds/trauma bays: 32 beds and 6 treatment chairs
          • # Psych/seclusion rooms: room set up specifically for psych
          • # patients per day: 208 per day, up to 317 depending on busyness
          • Certs: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC is preferred
          • Ratios: 1 to 4, 1 to 1 or 2 if ICU status
          • EMR: Cerner
          • Charge Nurse: present without patient assignment
          • ER techs: CNAs and EMT's
          • Security/Patient sitters: CNAs or security as needed
          • Scrub Color: navy
          • Tele/Monitor Techs: nurses must read and interpret strips
          • Vents: Yes
          • ED Physicians/Mid-Levels: Both MDs and midlevels used
          • Lab Draws: Nurses are not allowed to do lab draws
          • IV Team: No
          • RT 24/7: Yes
          • Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
          • Floating: Required to float to Arroyo Grande to work their ER
          • Common diagnosis/Types of patients: Trauma, 30% pediatrics, stroke, STEMIs, etc.
